TOK-SEN

TOKSEN is an old Northern Thailand practice. It is a rhythmic method of tapping using a special wooden mallet and wedge combined with Thai acu-points that creates a healing vibration, working deeply through the fascia and muscles in the body. Until recently, this unique healing modality was found only in the Chiang Mai area of Northern Thailand (Lanna). TokSen is thought to date back over 5000 years, and developed in Lanna while acupuncture developed in China. It is an energetic healing modality, and is still practiced in the country areas, where farmers receive TokSen from family members after working in the fields all day. The wooden mallet and wedge are generally made from the bark of the tamarind tree. The TokSen technique is used to clear blocked energy, to remove negative energy and ease muscle tension. It uses a rhythmically tapping motion and sound vibration, working deeply through the fascia and muscles down to where the attachments are at the bone level. TokSen helps with physical aches and pains, energy blockages, poor circulation, nerve problems and creates relaxation from the core level out.
